I am a Registered Psychotherapist with 13 years of experience supporting individuals from diverse populations and across a variety of settings, including Forensic Inpatient, Dual Diagnosis, Adolescents, Outpatient, First Responders, and Residential Treatment Centers. In addition to my work as a Psychotherapist, I am trained and experienced in providing individualized assessment and treatment through Behaviour Analysis. My expertise also includes facilitating evidence-based groups and providing clinical supervision to students during their field placements.
To me, psychotherapy is a way to improve your understanding of yourself, both your internal world of thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, as well as the external world, including your relationships with others. At times, therapy may feel awkward and challenging as we may experience vulnerability stepping into new ways of feeling, thinking, and behaving. However, therapy can also be genuinely human and introspective, a place where fear, shame, and challenges are explored and transformed. Working together, we can nurture and enhance your capacity for joy, a sense of fulfilment, and meaningful connection while learning a multitude of skills. As a psychotherapist, I specialize in providing client-centered therapy, and work from a foundation of compassionate listening to explore personal struggles to enhance your quality of life. I am registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, and a member of both the Ontario Society of Registered Psychotherapists, and the Ontario Association for Behaviour Analysis.
On a personal note, I was born and raised in Toronto to Portuguese parents. I have a love for soccer (Go Manchester United), comic book collecting, vintage muscle cars, reading, and hiking. I am also passionate about woodworking as I have found it to be therapeutically rewarding.
